Biography
Adrian has an MSc in Ecology and Environmental Sciences from Pondicherry University. Adrian was affiliated with Salim Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON) and Wildlife Institute of India prior to pursuing his research on the Bengal Slow Loris in Meghalaya. He hopes to pursue a PhD on the Loris and other primates in the same landscape. He is also interested in studying the cave ecosystems of Meghalaya in the future.
Through the Fellowship Adrian hopes to hone his skills as a team leader, project planner and educator, which will help to jump start his career in academia as well as conservation.
EDGE Project
Adrian’s project aims to develop a Conservation Action Plan for the Bengal slow loris in Meghalaya, India. His objectives are to:
- Assess the distribution of Bengal Slow Loris and identify the factors affecting its distribution
- Quantify the existing threats to the species
- Engage local communities on the species and its conservation
- Conduct a stakeholder workshop to develop strategies required for BSL’s conservation in Meghalaya
