Fondation Franklinia

ZSL’s EDGE of Existence programme has formed a new collaboration with Fondation Franklinia, which will help support on-the-ground conservation efforts to conserve at risk EDGE trees species all over the world.

Fondation Franklinia was established in 2005, and provides grants to support nature conservation projects focussing on preserving threatened tree species throughout the world and improve their conservation status. Today Fondation Franklinia primarily supports in situ conservation of these globally threatened tree species, which are either listed as Critically Endangered, Endangered or Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List. The fondation also supports the global assessment of all 60,000+ tree species.

Fondation Franklinia will be supporting 3 EDGE Fellows in the next Asia cohort who will undertake targeted conservation and develop Survival Blueprints to secure to the long-term survival of their species and their habitats by 2024. The 3 selected Fellows will be announced shortly.
